Ernest Benz

Ernest Benz of Otterbein Retirement Community Lebanon and formerly of Riverside, OH joined his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, in heaven on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. He was born October 16, 1923 in Pleasant Hill, OH to William and Hattie Benz. Besides his wife and parents Ernest is preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory son and daughter-in-law Ron and Toni Benz of Beavercreek and daughter and son-in-law Diane and Chuck Kardon of Dayton; grandchildren Amy and Brad Buzzell of Beavercreek and David Bollheimer of Kettering; great-granddaughters Becca and Lexi Buzzell of Beavercreek; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A WWII veteran and retiree of Sherwin Williams, Ernest will be remembered as a loving, faithful Christian who was a friend to all. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek with Reverend Barb Schnecker officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A celebration of Ernest's life will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Otterbein. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Otterbein Benevolence Fund, 580 N.
