Age 93, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was born March 8, 1917 in Augsburg Germany, the son of Alois and Margarete (Goetz) Spegele, who preceded him in death. Ernie was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Marjorie D. (Brown) Spegele in 1996; a daughter -in-law, Carol; his brother, Rev. Michael Spegele, and grandson John E. Sanderson. He is survived by his 5 children: Ernie, Margaret Sanderson (Don Rauch), Larry (Rosetta), David, and Mary Morabito (Sam); 7 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; nephews, Skeeter (Suzi) and Jimmy (Diane) Wiggins of South Carolina, and friends. Ernie was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Dayton Liederkranz-Turner German Club, and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. Ernie was a proud Alumni of the University of Dayton. Following college he taught biology and directed the band and choral group at Centerburg High School (OH). Ernie enjoyed a long career with NCR of more than 25 years, followed by a second career with Monarch Marking. The family will receive friends at the Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432 from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, with a Catholic prayer service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 N. Valley Rd. Xenia. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers of the Ohio Veteran's Home and Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
