Erica Duda, age 49, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away on Tuesday March 7 at her home in Kettering Ohio.
Erica is survived by her devoted husband of 17 years, John Duda; daughter, Hayley Duda; son, Sam Duda; parents, Darlene and Sam Stout; two brothers and sisters- in-law, Randy and Tami Stout of Jamestown, Ohio and Ryan and Lindsay Stout of Roberts, WI. She will also be missed by nieces and nephews, Katie Stout, Tyler (Tabitha) Stout, Emily Stout, Colin Stout, Audrey Stout, Victoria Stout and numerous family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jennette and Ralph Stout and Helen and Joseph Dindia.
At a young age, Erica developed a love of music. She enjoyed band in junior high and high school and especially her opportunity to be a Drum Major for two marching band seasons prior to graduating from Beavercreek High School in 1986. Although, she loved all music, favorite in her heart was country music and especially that of Toby Keith . Erica loved cooking and baking and she attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, graduating in 1989. As a chef, she worked in restaurants in Washington D.C., Orlando, and Cincinnati. Erica later made the decision to stay home and concentrate on raising her children.
Erica cherished family dinners and special occasion celebrations. She and John enjoyed spending their quiet hours fishing at Possum Creek, walking through the neighborhood and building bonfires in the backyard. They also took yearly trips to Tennessee. She loved to be surrounded by friends, especially her children's friends. Erica found great pride and joy in watching her kids in marching and concert bands at Fairmount High School. Erica also found special joy in her devoted pup companions Bella and Jake.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
