In the quiet morning of November 18, 2024, the world lost a brilliant soul, Eric William Webber, at the age of 38. Born on September 30, 1986, in RAF Lakenheath, England, Eric emerged into a world filled with possibilities, embracing life with a spirit that was vibrant and contagious.
From a tender age, his heart resonated with music, ignited by the gift of his first guitar at just six years old. That moment marked the dawn of a lifelong passion, a calling that saw him proficiently playing any instrument placed before him. Eric was a self-taught virtuoso, a musical alchemist who produced, composed, mixed, and mastered an array of genres, crafting soundscapes that left imprints on the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to experience his art.
Beyond his undeniable talent, Eric was a beacon of light to those around him. With a personality rich in humor, kindness, and an infectious joy for life, he radiated an energy that invited connection. He possessed the rare ability to genuinely care for others, often prioritizing their needs above his own. A true goofball at heart, he possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel seen and heard; he took the time to talk to people, share a laugh, and lend an ear as a mentor or confidant. His athleticism was evident not only in his zest for physical activities but also in the exuberance with which he engaged with life as a whole.
Eric's passions extended far beyond music; he found joy in spinning fire, captivating audiences with his flair and enthusiasm. His love for animals was profound, exemplified by his gentle spirit that could win over the most cautious of creatures—he could hand-feed squirrels without a moment's hesitation. His heart expanded even further with pride for his brother, Ryan and nephew, Aaden. The bonds they shared was a testament to the love and respect that defined their relationships. Eric was overjoyed with happiness when Aaden was born. He enjoyed teaching him to play guitar and pitch baseball.
Eric is survived by his devoted parents, Steve and Dawn Webber, alongside his loving brother, Ryan Webber, and his cherished nephew, Aaden Webber. He leaves behind a community of family and friends, including aunts and uncles Heather and Frank Parsons, Rhett and Breanne Johnson, Lesa and Dave Leonard, Suzanne and Mike Sorenson, as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward.
The echoes of laughter, the melodies of his compositions, and the warmth of his spirit resound in the hearts of all who knew him. He was predeceased by grandparents on both sides of his family and his uncle, Robert "Bob" Webber, who now welcome him into their embrace.
As we reflect on Eric's life, let us celebrate the musician, the friend, the son, the brother, and the compassionate soul who left an indelible mark upon our lives. His legacy is not merely the music he created but the love he shared, reminding us all to live as deeply and caringly as he did.
