NELSON, Eric Robert, age 54, of Beavercreek, OH passed away Saturday June 9, 2012.
Eric retired as a Major from the U.S. Air Force in 2004 after 29 years of service. He worked as a Civilian for the Logistics Transformation Office as the Business Transformation Officer at WPAFB, Dayton, OH. He also worked for the Global Logistics Supply Center where he managed the logistics activities for commodities all over the world.
Survivors include his parents, Herbert Nelson and Caroline Nelson; wife of 12 years, Maria Stewart Nelson; children, Kathleen Nelson-Wackler, Ricky Robert Nelson, Theresa Louise Nelson-Barfield, and Timothy Michael Nelson; beloved granddaughter, Elisa Martinez; step-sons, William Stewart and Dallas Stewart; siblings, David Nelson of Korea and Linda Norgard of Utah; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Eric was a loving husband, son, brother, friend, and hero. His greatest legacy is his children and granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202, or become a blood donor or bone marrow donor in Eric's Honor.
Private services will be held by the family.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, OH.
