HAYNES, Emory, 78 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday May 22, 2010 at the VA Hospice.
He was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on August 31, 1931 to the late Pearl and Joseph Haynes. Emory is preceded in death by his son Lee Haynes; daughter Sharon Haynes Lantz ; five brothers Frank, Virgil, Delbert, Wilburn, and Wilson Dean; four sisters Louise Carter, Lillian Witt, Kathleen Hughes, and Connie Sue Haynes.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years and 5 months, Orpha D. Haynes (Middleton); sons Rhondale E. (Mary Jo) Haynes, Gary Bruce, and Brion K. (Jennifer) Haynes; daughter Deborah (Byron) Johnson; grandchildren Angela (Nathan) Melendez, Wendy Lee (Glenn Garcia) Haynes, Amber Marie Johnson, Daniel Justin (Megan) Haynes, Jason Mathew Johnson, Megan Christa Haynes, and Erin Melissa Haynes; three great grandchildren Erys Melendez, Sierra Melendez, and Shelby Lee Garcia; brothers David R. (Helen) Haynes, Joseph (Kay) Haynes, and Robert (Barbara) Haynes; sisters Pauline Redwine and Nettie Lauhglin; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Emory was a decorated veteran in the U.S. Army with service in the Korean War. He retired April 4th 1995 from Ford Motor Company after 38 years. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to VA Hospice.
