Emma Dalton (nee Meece), 84, of Fairborn, OH., passed away into the care of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 28, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio.
She was born on August 21, 1927, in Somerset, KY., to the late Andrew Haze Meece and Ida K Cummings of Somerset. She grew up in White Lily, attended Shopville High School and worked for many years at the Palm Beach Company. Her golden years were spent in good health with a loving husband and family, sewing many of her own clothes, going to yard sales with her daughters, quilting, enjoying her grandchildren and reading the bible. She felt very blessed.
Emma is survived by her husband, Lloyd Dalton, formerly of Nancy, Kentucky. She is also survived by three daughters, Lyla Lykins (Allen Molnar), Tonyia Hammond, and Monna Hoffman (Roger). Living step children are Shirley Molden (Vertrees) of Somerset, Butch Dalton (Pam) of Grove City, Ohio and Rudy Dean Dalton (Charlene) of Washington, Courthouse, Ohio, Deborah Dalton of Los Alamos New Mexco, and Sue Dalton (sons Joseph and Jason) of York, Nebraska. Grand children are Daniel Lykins, Holly Hammond, Amberly Hoffman, Chelsea Hoffman, and Luke Hoffman, plus 18 beloved step grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Phelps and Effie Childers, and brother Lincoln Meece of Somerset.
Visitation for Emma Dalton will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Funeral follows at 11:00. Burial will be at Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Road, Fairborn, Ohio.
