Lewis, Emerson, age 74, of Huber Heights, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Spring Creek Nursing Home. He was born July 13, 1932 in Bruin, KY, the son of Ennis J. & Bertha M. (Stapleton) Lewis. He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a long standing member of the North Dayton First Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Beecher Lewis; and his brother-in-law Edward Gillum. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Aileen Lewis; son, Don (Jenny) Lewis of Huber Heights; grandsons, Joshua & Justin Lewis, both of Huber Heights; brothers, Lawrence (Wanda), Ennis Jr. (Kay), J.D. (Doris), & Hansel (Eunice) Lewis; sisters, Pearl (Russell Griffith, Lucille Gillum, Emogene (Raymond) Mobley, & Regina (Larry) Hudson; sister-in-law, Opal Lewis; special friends, Hobert & Emma Rice; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 7, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Rev. Timothy Kegley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
