Elwood (Woody) F. Andrew Jr., 78 of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away suddenly of a stroke on Wednesday June 10, 2015.
He was a 1956 graduate of Chamanade High School in Dayton, Ohio. He retired from Standard Register Company in 1999 after 43 years of service. Woody was a member of the Mount Zion Church in Beavercreek, Ohio and sang in the Faithful Men's Chorus and organized events for the Golden Agers Group in the church. He was also an active member for the Beavercreek Fire Department Auxiliary Unit. Woody served as a loyal Christian man in the other following endeavors: Police officer, dispatcher and volunteer firefighter for Beavercreek Township, Sergeant Police Officer for Sugarcreek Township, clerk at the Trophy Nut Shop in Centerville, and a Security Officer at Saint Leonards in Centerville, and was the Mayor in Harveysburg, Ohio.
Woody is survived by his wife of 58 years Joanne, daughter Robin Bentley, sons Greg (Debbie) and Mark, brothers Gary and John and sister Sue, granddaughters Shawna, Matthew and Jamie, great-grandchildren Ben, Jessa and Maverick, another one in the oven, and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Sr. and Mary Ellen and his sister Mary.
He was a true Christian and family man. Always a smile on his face, something kind to say, eager to meet new people, no one was a stranger, was kind, compassionate, giving, had a generous heart and was loved and adored by hundreds of people. He is with God now and his spirit is among us all where he continues to be the shepherd he is.
Visitation, memorial and lunch at the Mount Zion Church 428 Shepherd Road in Beavercreek. Visitation 10am - noon. Service at noon. Lunch following service.
