SHADE, Elwood E. "Woody", age 81, of Kettering (formerly of New Carlisle) died Saturday, November 8, 2008. He was born in Miamisburg, OH to the late Lawrence R. and Edith I. (Brookey) Shade. He married Treva Mae Jones on October 15, 1945 who preceded him in death March 23, 1966. He married Claris Fraley who preceded him in death May 16, 2004. He was retired from Williams Bros Roofing Co after 47 years. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God, Huber Heights. Survivors include four sons and four daughters, Jack (Lois) Shade of Englewood, Connie (Ronnie) Johnson of Dayton, James Thompson of VA, Michael (Debbie) Shade of Dayton, Carol (Dave) Leahy of Centerville, Larry Shade of Dayton, Sandy Westley and fiancé, David Brandenburg of Kettering, and Vivian Shade of Mansfield; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Jack Shade of Hillsboro and Richard (Margaret) Yoder of Vandalia. He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene F. Shade November 7, 1987 and two sisters. Special thanks to Salim (Cindy) Dahdah, MD. Services will be held at New Beginnings Church of God, 6649 Chambersburg Rd., Huber Heights, OH Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Cleghorn officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
