Elwood "Hefty" Cook, Jr., age 55 of Dayton, passed away September 13, 2019. He was born January 20, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio. Hefty was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Cook, Sr.
Hefty is survived by his mother, Ruth Anna Cook; brother, Thomas Cook; sister, Julianne Lawter; niece, Ashley Cook; nephew, Joseph Lawter; great-niece, Lakoby Brown; uncle, Billy Cook; many other relatives and friends.
Hefty was an over the road truck driver for more than 20 years. He loved NASCAR and had fun attending races with his friends. Hefty enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved to barbecue at family gatherings, and was a kind person to everyone; he was a big teddy bear.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. A graveside service will follow at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Road, Dayton, OH.
