WOODIE, Elva Kathleen, age 84, of Vandalia, OH passed away March 22, 2012 at The Hospice of Dayton. She was born October 30, 1927 in Raleigh County, WV to the late, James Albert Willis and Elva Lenticum Willis.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Buel W. Woodie; daughter, Darlene Schatz; four brothers, James Albert Willis Jr., Chester Willis, Jackie Willis, and Joe Willis; two sisters, Nadine Acord and Clara Porter.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Armstrong; Michael Woodie (Ronda); and Karen Woodie; grandchildren, Katrina Taylor, Joshua Woodie, Jordan Woodie, Jon Woodie, and Joseph Woodie; great-grandchild, Ryan Taylor; son-in-law, Wayne Schatz (Karen); brother, Dean Willis (Shirley); sisters, Annette Smith, Carol Sue Dean (Gilbert), Betty Bolen (Bob), Rosemary Odell (Gary), Brenda Farley (Wayne), Ilene Boyd, and Sharon Jones (Bill).
She was a lifelong member of North Riverdale Grace Brethren Church.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 26, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Officiating pastor Ron Blades. Interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
