Elsie M. Koos, age 105, of Dayton, passed away at her home on June 6, 2023. She was born on Monday, April 15, 1918 in Broughton, PA to the late Alex and Mary Hegyi. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Koos; sons: Louis Koos and Rudolph Koos; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Elsie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Koos; 6 grandchildren: Tom Koos (Tanya), Joe Koos (Robin), Louie Koos, Don Koos (Tracy), Kelly Henry (Richard) and Rhonda Harris (David); 10 great-grandchildren: Matt, Katie, Raven, Makaila, Jacob, Eli, Sarah, Abigail, Grayson and Benjamin; several great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Penny; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elsie was a dedicated wife, loving mother and caring friend. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and Magyar Hungarian Club. She enjoyed working at the Hungarian booth at World Affair, making noodles and cabbage rolls. Elsie also enjoyed working at the church and doing arts, crafts and ceramics.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Elsie's family would like to thank Promedica Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any hospice group of your choice.
