Hardy, Elizabeth E. "Elsie", age 82, of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Springmeade Nursing Home in Tipp City. Elsie was born June 14, 1925 in Avonmore, Pennsylvania to the late Alexander & Margaret (Kallay) Petrosky. She was a proud alumni of Stivers High School. She was a loyal and dedicated parish member of Church of the Incarnation and a former long time member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Elsie, along with her husband, was very active in numerous square dance clubs across Dayton.
Elsie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: James "Chico" (Sharon) Hardy of Tipp City, Howie (Pat) Hardy of West Carrollton, Joseph (Debbie) Hardy of Brookville, George (Teresa) Hardy of Clayton; grandchildren: Christina, Ginger, Bradley, Mat, Joey, Brian, Amy, Mike; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Boyer of Chicago, Rosie (John) Stekli of Clayton; brother: George (Nancy) Petrosky of Kettering; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Howard F. Hardy Sr.; sister: Margaret Wassenich; and brother: Alex Petrosky Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Hospice of Dayton or to the charity of one's choice in memory of Elsie.
