Eloise Elmore was born August 30, 1928 in Tuskegee, Alabama, to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Curlie Sanford.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Sanford Felton, Sr. and Donald Elmore; four sisters, Elenora Oglesby, Willa Mae Marshall, Rosalee Sanford; two brothers, John and James Sanford; two daughters, Joyce Cartwright, Jacquelyn Felton; grandsons, Lamar and Trey Felton and Gregory Patton.
A loving mother of seven children, a devoted wife and homemaker and seamstress, her greatest achievement was receiving the Holy Ghost 50+ years ago.
Leaving to cherish her memory, sisters, Minister Essie B. Strickland of Auburn, AL, Ann (Norman) Smith of Silver Springs, MD, and Betty Joseph of Laurinburg, NC; brother, George (Maryann) Sanford of San Antonio, TX; children, Sanford Jr., Gloria, Thomas (Teddi), Barbara Felton and Louise Slaughter; son-in-law, Tony Cartwright; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews; and two dedicated sisters-in-law, Pastor Ruthie Sanford and Maryann Sanford.
A special thanks to Regina and Gene of Maria Joseph Living Care Center.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10 am to 11 am at Power House of Faith, 500 Edison Street, Dayton, OH 45402. Funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm at Dayton National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her first husband, Sanford Felton, Sr..
