Elnora S. Crawford

Elnora Crawford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 3, 2024.

She was born on February 28, 1924 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Eunice Shoemaker.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, James B. Crawford; her daughter-in-law, Patricia L. Crawford; and 6 of her sisters, Claire, Dorothy, Inez, Ruby, Sue, and Agnes Myrrhl.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Crawford of Lebanon, Michael (Lois) Crawford of Tipp City, and Julia Crawford of Riverside; one sister, Shirley Perry of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Rufus Coursey of Lewisburg, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Jenny) Crawford, Amy (Dennis) Moles, Melissa (Jason) Martin, Ryan (Stephanie) Crawford, and Jonathan (Kara) Crawford; and 15 great grandchildren, Drew, Caleb, Parker, Elijah, Makayla, Brody, Camdyn, Tyler, Claire, Collin, Carter, Grant, Cade, Kennedy, and Bennett.

After moving to Ohio, she enrolled in Dayton Night School where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She was employed at McCall's Magazine and transferred to the payroll division (MISCO) until the company relocated. 

She was kind and considerate, and loved to spend time with her family. She found beauty in almost everything she saw and loved to laugh.

She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio and also volunteered at The Gospel Mission in Dayton when she was able.

Elnora's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Moles presiding. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery (68 Maple Avenue, Centerville, Ohio 45459).

Elnora's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gospel Mission of Dayton or to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
