Elmer H. McBee, 89 of Fairborn, OH passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, November 18, 2017. Elmer was born December 5, 1927 in Clinton, Tennessee to Thomas and Cora (Edmonds) McBee.
Elmer served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as an Iron Worker his whole life, working on projects such as the Mackinaw Bridge, The Times Building and Cape Canaveral Space Center, and was a lifetime member of Iron Workers Union #808 in Orlando. Elmer loved to fish, play cards and tell stories. He especially loved spending time with his family, who he loved dearly and he will be greatly missed by all.
Elmer is survived by his daughter Jane (Charles) Clevenger; six grandchildren, Debbie Plummer, Kimberly (Sam) Merlo Zuppardo, Kelley (Dale) Grody, Grant (Jennifer) Kunkle, Charles (Meghann) Clevenger II, M. Todd (Teresa) Clevenger, Sean (Kim) McBee, Christopher (Kelly) McBee and Timothy (Nancy) McBee; seventeen great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren; nephews, Gregory (Missy) McBee and Robert (Barbara) Slack; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Brian McBee; wives Ava Nell, Dorothy and Annette; and a grandson, Scott Kunkle; a sister, Nora Slack and a brother, Carl McBee.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
