LONSERT, Elmer F., age 85 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Lonsert, his son Michael D. Lonsert and his brothers Burt and James Lonsert. He is survived by his son Mark and wife Lori Lonsert of Washington Twp.; grandsons Ben and wife Ashley, Cory, Pat, Reece and Joe; great granddaughter Marley Mae; sisters Barb and husband Tom Dieterle, Lois and husband Ernie Davis, special friend Trish Hughes and a host of other relatives and friends.
Elmer graduated from Stivers High School, Class of 1943. He graduated from The University of Dayton, Class of 1950. He retired from Sterling Rubber Products after many years of service. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus Counsel 3730, UD Flyers Club, Milton Athletic Club, The Belmont Historical Society and the Super Bee Square Dance.
His interests included golfing, volunteering at Carillon Historical Park and working part time at Ace Hardware. Elmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He generously donated his body to Wright State for the advancement of medical science. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 272 Bainbridge Street, Dayton, with Fr. Rick Friebel celebrant. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton-Xenia.
