Elma Mowell

MOWELL, Elma passed away peacefully Friday evening, December 30 2011 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her main joy in life was her family and she was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Elma touched many people in her life and enjoyed cooking legendary feasts at Thanksgiving and Christmas where everyone was welcome. She was retired from the Beavercreek school system after 25 years of service as a bus driver. Mom was most of all proud of her family and her face always lit up when there were little children around.

Elma was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Alexander and most recently by her son, Kevin Shawhan. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 45 years, Charles; sons, Jeffrey (Laura) Shawhan and Rob (Melinda) Mowell; step daughter, Sheri (Bill) Baugh; 5 grandchildren, Katie Shawhan (Andrew Heller), Alicia, Erica and Krista Mowell, Jenni (Tom) Crawford and great-grandchildren, Jack, Sarah and Nathan. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill (Sandra) Alexander and Bob (Treva) Alexander and a special niece; Olenda Toler, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes there will be no services. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
