Ella Myrtle Carpenter

Ella Myrtle Carpenter, born in Orlando, KY on March 4, 1917, the daughter of Henry Lee and Lona Elizabeth Davidson, our tender and loving mother passed away peacefully on August 2 at SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City, Ohio.

Wife and loving partner of her late husband Denver Carpenter for 71 years, Myrtle was the mother of Oneida Music (William) of Tipp City, Naomi Williams (Jerry) of Bellbrook, Doris Jones of Vandalia, Sharon Mayabb (Darrell) of Arvada, Co., and Deborah Borden (William) of Huntington Beach, Ca. Beginning their married life in Jackson County Kentucky, Myrtle and Denver later moved to London, Ky where the first three of their five girls were born. Seeking a better life for their growing family the Carpenters moved to Dayton in the early 1940s where their fourth and fifth daughters were born. They lived a fulfilling and good Christian family life in Dayton for the next 70 years.

Myrtle is survived by her sister Ruth Pierson of Dayton; brothers: Orbin Davidson of Dayton, and Logan Davidson of Oakdale, Tn. She was predeceased by her brothers Sam, Ben, Garrett, Marshall, Bobbie (Georgie), Marvin, and sisters Gertrude Allen, Delpha, and Betty. Myrtle and Denver Carpenter were the proud grandparents of ten, great-grandparents of sixteen, and great-great grandparents of thirteen, most living in the Montgomery county area. Ella Myrtle Davidson Carpenter's whole life was dedicated to her large loving family and now rests in peace with her husband in the arms of the Lord.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
