Ella Goddard

Ella Goddard, age 92, of Miamisburg, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Ella was born in Pinsk, Poland on April 14, 1927. She was the daughter of John and Martha (Schilberg) Scutowich. Ella would eventually migrate to America where she met her future husband, James C. Goddard. After marrying James, they eventually found their roots in Miamisburg, OH. where they began to build their lives and family together.
Ella was a "caregiver" at heart. She spent her life working as a registered nurse, first in Maryland and then across country in California. She then spent the next 43 years of her life as a registered nurse for Kettering Medical Center Labor and Delivery.
She was a devoted life-long member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and currently a member of the Miamisburg SDA Church. Ella was also a dedicated volunteer for over 10 years for the Good Neighbor House. The Good Neighbor House was an organization that she felt deeply about because of the good it provided to our community.
Ella is survived by her loving sons, John P., William C. and James "Fred" (Veda) Goddard; daughter, Martha Ellen Cooper, grandchildren, Penny Coats, Natasha Simpson, John Paul Goddard, Jr., Charles Fagala, Brittany Pieschel, Brian Goddard and Josh Webb.
Along with her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Goddard; son, Dan C. Goddard and brother, Carl Scutowich.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2019, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Newcomers with Pastor Hal Ward officiating. Burial will take place in the Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that memorial contributions can be made in Ella's name to the Good Neighbor House, Attn: Development Department, 627 East First Street, Dayton, OH 45402.
