Elizabeth Helmer

Elizabeth "Kay" Helmer (nee Miller), age 85 of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a lengthy illness on April 12, 2023. She was born on May 12, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio.
She was a proud 1955 graduate of Roosevelt High School. After graduation, she was employed at NCR, later becoming a Nurse and working at the Family Practice Group for over 30 years, then Buckeye Family Practice. She was also a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. She loved her rescue Bichons, and watching the birds. Kay enjoyed making her lavishly decorated cakes for friends and family for all occasions. She is remembered by many as the "kindest, sweetest, most patient, loving woman ever."
Kay is survived by her children: Kathy (Tom) Tomazic, Jerry Isenbarger, and Todd (Kathy) Isenbarger; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jackie Fleischman; and many friends & loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ward & Winona Miller; her husband, Sherrill Helmer; her brother, James Miller, and her sister, Barbara Miller.
A visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where her funeral service will begin at 1:30pm. Following the service, she will be laid to rest with her husband at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
