Heaven welcomed another angel early Thursday evening, January 6th, 2022. Elizabeth "Betty" Bain Gomez, 80, of Dayton, OH, crossed over while at Kettering Memorial Hospital in the presence of her five boys, Sol, Tony, Lucky, Vincent, and David and many of her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family gathered in prayer.
Betty was born May 1st, 1941, to Harry & Gladys Pritchard in Farmington, PA. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Buster Pritchard and sister Jeanne Casper. She is survived by brother Pat Pritchard and sister Carol Zmyslo, and her 5 boys and Daughter-In-Laws, 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
Betty lived a life of great adventure, mischief, ambition, and independence. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, Godmother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend with more ride or dies than anyone we've ever known. She was a mother of 5 boys who knew only unconditional love and she was a fierce protector of family and friends. Retiring recently, Betty dedicated the last 30 years of her life engaged in the noble profession of helping chemically dependent women rise from despair, recover, and reclaim their independence. It was Betty's faith and love for God that lit the path she walked, the same path that led her home Thursday to her mother, father, sister, and brother. Her greatest role and contribution were Matriarch of her family, one that knew no blood bond.
Services for Betty will be held Saturday February 19, 2022 at St. Henry Church, 6696 N Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449, at 10:30a.m. immediately followed by a Celebration of Life event at SouthBrook Christian Church, 9095 Washington Church Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342 from 12p.m. – 3p.m. In honor of Betty and the causes that were important to her, please forgo sending flowers in favor of making a donation to St. Jude Cancer Research, the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation's Transplant Community.
