Elizabeth "Liz" E. Crum, or lovingly known by her family as "Betty", age 76, of Dayton, formerly of Centerville, passed away on July 20, 2023, after ongoing health problems for many years. She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky, on January 31, 1947, the daughter of the late Auxier and Eloise Crum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Edward Andrew "Andy" Crum.
She is survived by her beloved Son, Jonathan (Candace) Crum; grandchildren, Auxier, Finley, Emerson and Stefan; brothers, Gregory (Connie) Crum and Reginald (Cheryl) Crum; nieces and nephew, Lauren Oliver, Tania Sutterlin and Darryl Crum; and many other loving family and friends.
Liz retired from Kettering Fairmont High School, where she was a Unit Principal from 1997-2003. Prior to her retirement from Kettering Fairmont High School, she was employed with Kenton High School and the Dayton Public School System, where she was a Teacher. Liz also worked for a number of years as a Teacher in Cleveland. In her free time, she loved spending time with animals and shopping. She had a great sense of humor and adored the time spent with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of her Life will begin at 4:00pm.
