Elisha Williamson was born on April 7, 1937 to the late Michael and Mamie Williamson in Waynesboro, Mississippi passed away on July 14, 2016. Elisha Williamson was a loyal and faithful preacher in the Pentecostal Church of God. He was baptized into the Pentecostal Church of God in 1964 when he was introduced to Jesus Christ through the Apostle W.J. Peterson. He was ordained to the office of a Bishop in the Holy Convocation the year of 1975. Bishop Elisha Williamson served as a Pastor and Bishop for many years. Bishop Elisha Williamson was a highly skilled masonry who built many homes and churches along with the convention centers at the Pentecostal Church of God. Three things that he loved was preaching, building homes, and gardening. Those who knew him well knew that his favorite TV shows were Sanford and Son and Western movies. His favorite singing group was the Mighty Clouds of Joy. Above all things that he loved, Bishop loved preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and his deeds of love proved how much that he loved the people of God.
Elisha was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Williamson, his son Jamall Williamson, and his two brothers Cecil Williamson and Joseph Williamson Sr. He is survived by his 14 children Lester Williamson (Esther), Sharlotte McCoy (Karl), Kenneth Williamson, Lynette Miller, Timothy Williamson (Gwen), Renardo Williamson (Emma), Dominic Williamson (Betty), Madonna Gayles (Adonis), Cassandra Stevenson (Donnie), Veronica Grant (Gerald), Cesry Williamson, Verna Joyce Henderson, Catina Larkin (Kelvin), Absalom Williamson (Karlene) and a whole host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loving members of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Bishop Williamson's funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at West Memory Gardens in Dayton, Ohio. Procession will form at the Pentecostal Church of God (2931 Ralliston Ave.) at 12:15 pm on Tuesday.
