Elinor V. Shunkwiler, 92, of Riverside, OH went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2017. Elinor was born in Euclid, Ohio on April 10, 1925 to Clark and Jennie (Sippola) Comer and married John Shunkwiler in Dayton, OH.
Elinor was a jewelry maker who loved life, COFFEE and shopping. She was a Cleveland Indians fan, a NASCAR fan, enjoyed her television shows and loved to go out to eat at restaurants. She enjoyed playing games with her kids and grandkids, who she loved dearly, and will be greatly missed by all.
Elinor is survived by two daughters, Delores "Dee" (Mark) Cook and Rita Hamilton; a son Renn (Gail) Everhart; eight grandchildren, Scott (Ronda) Daniels, Michelle (Charles) Kopa, Lori (Spencer) Walker, Remi (Jeremiah) Harris, Keri (Donald) York, Nicole (Joshua) Alcorn, Crystal Everhart and David (Jayme) Everhart; 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons Larry and Dirk Shunkwiler; and a brother Elmer Comer.
A visitation and gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory-North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424. A memorial service will be held following the gathering at the funeral home at 3:00 pm.
