Elena I. Kohls

Elena "Lena" Ivannah Kohls, age 44 of Dayton, Ohio peacefully departed this life Monday, December 20, 2021 at 6:00pm. As the matriarch of the family, her exceptionally loving nature is preserved in memory by her devoted husband, Douglas Kohls, her three sons, Vadym, Ryan, and Nathan Kohls, and her brother Ievgen Nedrygailov. Elena was born in the small village of Zugres, Ukraine to Lyudmyla Nedrygailova and Ivan Nedrygailov.

Elena lived life to the fullest and was always a shining light to any room she walked into. She was always in consistent pursuit of taking care of her friends and family and making everyone a better version of themselves. She had a love of music and dance and brought her passion to the local community through teaching and instructing various classes. She was also a true scholar in her studies and completed a Bachelors of Biological Science where she found her true calling in medicine and was pursuing another Bachelors in Nursing before she passed away.

Elena was also an expert in the art of knitting and was always working on a new project to make sure that her family and puppies never went cold in the harsh Ohio winters. So, it was never a surprise to see a hand-made blanket, sweater, or hat to make its way into your stocking come Christmas time.

Family will receive guests from 1-2 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459) where a memorial service will begin at 2 PM.
