Eldon Lewis, age 86, of Miamisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Eldon was born at home in Floress, KY on December 3, 1930 to the late Martin & Nannie Clara (Elam) Lewis and was raised by his grandparents, James Robert & Flora (Lemaster) Elam.
He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War serving in the 124th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, was a Kettering Police Officer in the 1960's, a member of the D.A.B.R. for over 40 years, and his passion was being active with Gideon's International since 1978.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elaine Lewis; son & daughter-in-law, Glenn & Geri Lewis; daughter, Nancy Whitney; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other close relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 1-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). Service to follow. Eldon will be laid to rest at Elam Cemetery (179 Bill Lewis Rd, West Liberty, KY).
