Elaine Therese Denault was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 16, 1954. She lost her battle with a chronic disease on August 2nd, 2017.
"What we've got here is a failure to communicate" words brought to life by Strother Martin in Cool Hand Luke. While I'm not sure what the warden was talking about I do know that no one shared with me that my time on earth would be so short. There is so much that I hoped to do and won't be able to accomplish. So my words to all of you "don't procrastinate", just do it!
While I've been tethered to an oxygen tank and it's not for scuba diving! It's just to get around from room to room.
I am living retirement vicariously through my sister, Ramona Novitski and brother in law, Mark. The woman that didn't know what crafts were, is now gluing seashells and producing glass tile turtles. I am envious that she learned how to drive the Red Cross van for emergencies, play songs on her little organ and tell people where to go at the airport. Oh, she has been sewing up a storm also for breast cancer patients.
A different retirement than our folks Raymond and Marie Therese Denault had. I would like to comment that longevity was almost guaranteed. Mom lived to the age of 82 and dad nearly 94! Mom's parents lived into their 80's and 90's!
My legacy is my family. I was blessed with a good son, Robbie Vest, daughter in law Mindi Hughel Vest, their children Alexis Vest and Andrew Vest. I was also blessed with a daughter, Kristen Vest and grand animals. I would like to claim the blonde hair contribution , but truth is: we all have blonde hair and blue eyes.
I was a Registered Nurse for 43 years and was passionate about the health and well-being of new families. My nursing career spanned psychiatric, nursery, all Birth Center Functions, public health and teaching new nurses.
I couldn't get enough of my grandchildren!
Who doesn't want to pass down values, recipes, stories?
It was hard as they got older and schedules filled up. I had to request that my grandson "pencil me in".
I worked with some wonderful people and some not too wonderful. But we did accomplish a lot for our clients/patients.
