Eileen A. Rose, age 99 of Dayton, OH, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Sanctuary at Wilmington Place. She was born July 10, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio to Raymond and Josephine (Hohm) Cordonnier. She married Joseph Rose on May 25, 1940 in Holy Family Church in Dayton, OH.
Eileen was a stay at home Mom, volunteered as a dispatcher for the Beavercreek Fire Department and was a Charter Member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. She crocheted over 1000 hats for local children and over 1000 quilt squares that were assembled into quilts for the needy. Eileen and her husband Joe enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling and bird watching. She played organ for enjoyment, loved to play Bingo and volunteered as a leader for 4-H club, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Eileen is survived by her two sons, Donald E. (Angie) Rose, Gerald L. (Phyllis) Rose; two daughters, Kathleen M. (Dennis) Puckett, Lois A. (Jim Thompson) Presley; thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren; a sister in law, Carole Cordonnier; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Paul and Kenneth Cordonnier; a grandson, Gregory Rose; and a son in law, James Presley.
A Visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral and Receptions, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432 on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Dayton National Cemetery.
