Eileen Phillips, age 91, of Kettering, was called home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2023. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Ancil & Zora Lovitt.
She was preceded in death by her love of 65 years, Neil Phillips; her sisters, Jenny and Ruth; and her brother, Bryce.
She is survived by her children: David (Kathy) Phillips and Tracy Little; her beloved granddaughters: Shari (Ryan) Folker, Kelly Phillips, Jamie (Jason) Wampler and Sara (Justin) DeBorde; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Maliyah, Ari, Logan, Aubrey, Bria, Ava and Nora; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Eileen was a devoted Christian who loved to give back to her community through donations and volunteering. She also loved to garden and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. She was a lover of books, art and the theater. She liked to travel and collect various antiques. Eileen was a great storyteller and often shared these stories with her family and friends.
Eileen was a very proud mother and gave boundless support and love to her children. She shared her love of travel with them through numerous family vacations. Eileen loved it when her granddaughters had sleepovers, where they would end the night dancing to Lawrence Welk and start the morning with the best biscuits n' cornmeal gravy. She would plan the perfect tea parties for them, where they would dress up to the nines in her best clothes and jewelry.
Eileen was always beautifully put together with her well-coordinated outfits and jewelry to match. She was a very proud wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother. We thank her for her love, great memories and everything she taught us.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm.
