Edwina Grimes

Edwina L. Grimes, age 81, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday March 10, 2011. She was born January 20, 1930 in Pensacola, FL, to the late Edward and Violet Donaldson. In addition to her parents, Edwina was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Donaldson.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Grimes; daughters, Brenda (Ronald) Allen and Jamita (Stan) Thompkins; grandchildren; Logan, Nathaniel and Kendal; brothers, Edward (Cile) Donaldson, Otis (Shirley) Donaldson, and Eugene (Gloria) Donaldson; sisters: Odile Donaldson and Blanche (Eugene) Sylvester; close friend, Mary Hancock; numerous other relatives and friends.

Edwina was a member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday March 17, 2011 at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, 519 Liscum Dr, Dayton, 45417, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be held at Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd.
