Edwin Scott

November 15, 1939 — July 8, 2018

Edwin Devoe Scott, age 78 of Franklin, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born November 15, 1939 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of the late Oscar Raleigh and Bonnie Lee Scott.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by two brothers.

Ed is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen (Stamper) Scott; sons, Danny A. Scott, Michael Scott, Mark R. Scott; daughter, Carol E. (Scott) Johnson; grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Ashlee, Autumn, Amber and Olivia; great grandson, Stetson; best friend, Don Hensley; Grandma Rausie Stamper and nephew, Dave Scott.

Ed honorably served our country in National Guard for 18 years. He owned and operated Scott Drum Service since 1979. Ed enjoyed coin collecting, flea markets, traveling, a good meal, and his grandchildren. He was a Freemason of the Bloomingburg Lodge #449.

Family will receive guests from 9:00-11:00 am Friday, July 13, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Service will follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home and officiated by his nephew Dave Scott. Procession to David's Cemetery, Kettering will be accompanied by military honors and burial. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Condolences and memories may be shared by visiting Ed's online memorial at www.newcomerdayton.com.
