Edwin Dunn Rennie
October 20, 1935 — April 10, 2021
Edwin Dunn Rennie, age 85, of Centerville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
Edwin was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on October 20, 1935 to the late Joseph & Isabella Rennie.
In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, Annie, Jean and Gordon.
He is survived by wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Rennie; daughter, Susan (Ron) Conatser; grandchildren, Kyle (Karen) Conatser, Kendra (Alex) Gonzalez and Kelsey Conatser; great-granddaughter, Zoey Conatser; and many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, Scotland and England.
Edwin attended Robert Gordon's College in Scotland with a degree in accounting. Then served for 2 years in the Royal Air Force. Edwin and Betty were married in 1959. They had a daughter, Susan in 1960. Edwin, Betty and Susan immigrated to the United States in 1962.
He worked for the Harter Bank in Canton, Ohio. Edwin moved to Dayton in 1967 to work internationally for NCR developing computerized systems for banking until 1983. He then worked at Sinclair Community College as the Director of Information Systems, where he was instrumental in the transition to computerized registration. He worked there from 1983 until his retirement in 2001.
Edwin was very devoted to his family, they will remember him for his sense of humor, love of music, storytelling, problem solving and positive outlook.
In recent years he had shown strength and courage when facing significant vision issues. Edwin could often be found gardening or walking his beloved dog Graci. He will always be remembered for being a caring and loving person.
Edwin had been involved with his church, Southern Hills United Methodist Church, where a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
