Edward L. White, age 97, went to be with the Lord following an active life of caring for others, as well as active in his church and sports.
He was preceded in death by his wives: Dorothy, to whom he was married for 47 years, and was the mother of his four children, Marie Neff White and Thelma Lunsford White; his parents: Leroy and Ruth White; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Ed is survived by four children and spouses: Carolyn (Roger) Dean, Vaughn (Marlene), Keith (Lynn) and Brian "Skip" (Jan); 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; brother, James (Betty); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ed will be remembered as a NCR tool designer, a former softball player and a great umpire. Most importantly, he accepted the Lord early in his life and lived out his Christian experience by serving in various capacities in the church leaving behind many special friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Salem Church of God, 6500 Southway Road, Clayton, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday with his sons officiating. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
