Edward Wesley Pitzer

Edward Wesley Pitzer, born on June 8, 1952, in Springfield, OH was a man of great intellect and passion, he has left a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Edward's journey came to a peaceful end on August 2, 2024 in Dayton, OH.

A distinguished Analytical Chemist and College Professor, Edward's thirst for knowledge was evident to all who crossed his path. With a Master's in Science under his belt, he not only excelled in his professional endeavors but also inspired countless young minds throughout his academic career.

Beyond his professional life, Edward was known for his vibrant personality - described as both passionate and intelligent. His love for learning extended beyond the classroom; he found solace in the pages of books and the captivating worlds of "Star Trek" and "Lord of the Rings." Music was another one of his great joys, with a special place in his heart reserved for The Beatles.

Before embarking on his successful career, Edward served his country with honor in both the Navy and the Air Force. His dedication to serving others extended to all aspects of his life, making him a cherished colleague, mentor, and friend.

Edward is now reunited with his parents and two brothers in eternal peace. He leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on by his children: Rick (LeAnna) Pitzer, Ed (Heather) Pitzer, Jessica (Russell) Pitzer, and Samantha (Andrew) Volosky. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren - Ian, Alex, Tristen, Timmy, Josh, Kennedy, Riley, Liam, and Penelope - as well as three great-grandchildren. Among the living is his brother Skip (Joanne) Pitzer.
