Edward F. O'Meara, age 84, of Dayton, passed away Thursday August 1, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital.
Ed was born August 9, 1928 to the late James and Marcella (Heil) O'Meara. He graduated from Holy Trinity Elementary and Chaminade High School (1946) and retired from GH&R and Fenton Foundry Supply as a bookkeeper. Ed was also a train, trolley and streetcar enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara A. (Meyer), his brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Barbara (Oldiges) O'Meara; 2 infant siblings, Johnnie and Patty; and 3 brothers-in-law, Dennis McMahon, Wayne Meyer and Bill Mescher.
He is survived by 2 sons, Sean (Ivy) and Aaron (Terry); brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Pat O'Meara; sister, Betty McMahon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Gene Cordonnier; Martha and George Beemsterboer; 2 sisters-in-law, Lois Jean Mescher and Annette Meyer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenny and Ginger Meyer; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and good friends and his "Special Angel" and goddaughter, Angie Meyer.
Visitation will be Sunday August 4, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday August 5, 2013 starting at 10am at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St., Dayton, OH with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
