LOGAN, Edward Thomas, age 90, born July 10, 1922, died August 19, 2012 at the Rittenhouse Senior Living of Middletown, Ohio. He and his wife were long time residents of the Beavercreek/Kettering community. He was the oldest of 5 children born to Charles and Mabel Logan of Cheshire, CT. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie and sister in law, Peggy; grandson, Jason; and great granddaughter, Molly. He served as a First Lieutenant with the US Army Air Corps,8th Air Force, piloting a B24 for 10 missions over Eastern Europe during World War II. He married Helen Roberta Coley in April of 1944. Ed is survived by his wife Helen, of 68 years; and their 5 children; Bobbie (Richard) Norman, Betsy (Michael) Keyes, Thomas (Regina) Logan, Ann Mundy, Coley (Martha) Logan; 12 grandchildren ; 16 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marcella Sunburg, Betty Nelson; and his brother, John Logan. Ed retired after 25 years with NCR, relocating from Connecticut to Pennsylvania and then to Ohio with the company. In 1971 he established his own business, Dimension Electronics in Beavercreek, which is now operated by his son, Coley Logan. For many years, Ed was an active member of the Miami Valley Music Men, a Barbershop Chorus; volunteered with the Wright B. Flyer restoration organization; and was a member of the Beavercreek Rotary Club. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 5 to 7pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road. Additional visitation will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 for 1 hour (9:30 to 10:30am) prior to 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of Miami Valley 46 N. Detroit St. Suite B, Xenia, OH 45385.
