Edward Earl Lee

September 6, 1942 — October 30, 2018

Edward was the fourth child to the union of the late Vincent and Marie (Shafer) Lee on September 6th 1942, in Washington Court House, OH. He graduated from Washington High School where he played baseball and football. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy stationed aboard the USS Mullinnix as Yeoman during the Vietnam War.

He graduated from Central State University with a Bachelor's degree in business from Central Michigan University with a Master's degree in finance. He worked for a number of years in the office of Fiscal Management as a budget analyst for the city of Dayton; District Supervisor for Professional Maintenance of Dayton where he remained until his health failed. He loved bowling, fishing, and Ohio State football. He was a member of the Harmony Lodge #77; Miami Consistory #26 and Amer Temple #107. Edward is a former member of Harvest Grove Baptist Church and Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer. He united with Shiloh Baptist church in 2006 and was a faithful member of the Mass Choir and Male Chorus and often spoke of the time when he would return.

He was preceded in death by both parents; 3 sisters, Sara Bradley of Portland, OR; Sylvia Johnson of Inglewood, CA; and Wilma Diamond of San Antonio, TX.

Cherishing the memories of his life is Elsie, wife of 49 years; 3 sons; David Ragland (Rhonda) of Englewood; Michael Lee of Dayton; Shawn Lee (Aderylyn) of Riverdale, GA, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Three brothers; Ret. Lt. Col. David Lee (Patricia) of Chester, VA, George Lee (Patricia) of Austin, TX; Howard Lee (Gaye) of Leesburg, OH. 1 sister, Jennifer Cooper of Washington Court House, OH and a host of nieces and nephews. He leaves, in our hearts, a void that can never be filled.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 10-11 am at The Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave, Dayton, OH 45402. The service will begin at 11 am.

Edward will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery on Tuesday with a private family graveside service.
