Edward L. Jenkins, age 87, peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2023. He was born in North Dayton on February 28, 1936 to the late Dempsey and Ruth Jenkins. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sister, Norma Hartman; brothers, Ted Jenkins, Bill Jenkins and grandson, Christopher Gassner.
Ed leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 46 years, Sandy; sons, Todd of Florida, Seth (Shancie) of Columbus; daughter, Lesa (Gary) Howard of Alaska and 10 grandchildren. Special to him were Shane (Sylvia) Paul, Mike Hartman, Karen Weber, Karissa Howard, Huxley and Marley Jenkins. Ed loved all of his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ed graduated from Wayne High School and served in the Air Force Reserves for 9 years. He began his career at Dayton Power and Light where he retired after 43 years of service. Ed was a member of Miami Valley Management, American Society of Plumbing Engineers, Elks Lodge #58 and Miami Valley Austin Healey Club. He served as an officer in all of the organizations. Ed and Sandy enjoyed traveling and took many trips together with family and friends. He was especially fond of cruises and truly enjoyed being with people. Ed was admired by family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Getts to officiate.
