Edward James Mckibbin

McKibbin, Edward James, age 80, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Edward was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors/Delphi with over 30 years of service and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Oakwood. He was a member of the Ohio River Roadrunners and an avid outdoorsman enjoying hiking, biking, running and canoeing.

Edward is survived by his wife of 22 years: Jean Snider; sons and daughters-in-law: Steve (Brenda) McKibbin, Mark (Kristy) McKibbin; daughters and son-in-law: Miriam (Anthony Burns) McKibbin, Sarah (Michael) Reeseman; grandchildren: Adam, Justin, Nicholas & Lynnette McKibbin, Conner Burns, Jennifer (Billy)Weil; great grandchildren: Emory, Madisyn & Alissa; step sons: Dan, Robb & Ian Snider; step grandchildren: Clarie, Emily & William Snider; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Jean M. (Faist) McKibbin; parents: Adam & Helen (Vragal) McKibbin; and sister: Nancy Alice McKibbin.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 155 E. Thurston Blvd., Oakwood, Ohio 45419. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Our Savior Lutheran Church or Hospice of Dayton in memory of Edward. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel).
