We honor the passing of SSgt. Edward Grover, Jr. age 71 of Dayton, OH. He was active duty 20 years with extended services until age 62. He was born October 30, 1935, in Logan, WV, the son of George and Margaret Grover of Dehue, WV. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (nee Avis) Grover; four children, Debra Lynn (born Ft. Knox, KY), Suzan Diann (born Vicenza, Italy), Michael E. (born Ft. Ord, CA), and George W. (born Ft. Buckner, Okinawa); his siblings, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Grover of Milton, WV, Mr. and Mrs. James Lackey of Huntington, WV, and Ethel Dale Henry of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law, Barbara Roddy of Cincinnati, OH; wife's siblings, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Avis of Kenova, WV and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Avis of Holden, WV. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, John T. Grover, SSgt., U.S. Army, Ret. He and his brother, John T. are among West Virginia's' highest decorated solders. SSgt. Grover will be laid to rest at a later date in Arlington Nation Cemetery with full military honors.
