Edward Gebhard

March 6, 1949 — December 1, 2015

GEBHARD, USAF MAJOR (Ret.) Edward Paul, age 66, of Beavercreek Ohio, passed away on Dec 1, 2015 at home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Muncie, Indiana to the late Donald H. and Virginia E. (Skelly) Gebhard. Edward graduated from Northside High School, St. Francis College, and was awarded a Master's degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Ed proudly served his county in the USAF as a navigator, radar navigator (bomb nav) and program manager.

After his retirement he worked for several local companies supporting Wright Patterson AFB. He loved to fish and was always interested in astronomy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Amanda Gebhard and Delbert and Edith Skelly; his parents, and one brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 44 years (together for 49), Becky; brother, James and sister-in-law Lea Powers both of Ft. Wayne IN; goddaughter, Dixie Kacharios of Dallas TX; 3 nieces; 2 nephews, and 3 great nieces.

He loved his pets, Bobo, Izzy, and Charlie who gave him great comfort. Ed was a loving husband and an honorable man. He bravely fought his illnesses until the end. The family would like to thank Ellie Home Caring for their love and care and Crossroads Hospice for their support. Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to any Wounded Warrior Project. No services at this time.
