Edward "Ed" G. Swink

Edward "Ed" G. Swink, age 89 of Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 15, 2024. He was born January 5, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Ralph and Marie Swink.

Ed was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Ed was a self described old country boy. He loved his horses, farming, his pickup trucks, tractors, and going out to eat at Bob Evans. Eds pride and joy was his family. Ed enjoyed watching Boxing, Rodeos, and music shows. Ed was a lifetime member of the Troy Fish and Game and a American Legion Member. He will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. 

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Dorothy June Swink; sister, Janice Back; step-son, Wayne Kirschbaum; step-son in law, Steve Haven; and brother-in-law, Glen Beaty. 

Ed is survived by his daughter, Lisa Campbell (Bryan Rosencrance); step-children, Judith Haven, James "David" (Tamee) Elmore, and Teresa (Phil) Steinbrugge; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Connell, James Edward Campbell, and Stephanie (Ben) Legg; great grandchildren, Mia, Isaac, Dylan, and Jackson; sister, Doris Beaty; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 12pm to 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 1pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
