Age 88 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Ed was born January 4, 1921 in Clayhole, Kentucky to Nathan & Eva (Landrum) Combs.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Combs, brother, Gordon Combs; and by two sisters, Georgia & Susie Combs.
Edward is survived by his children Calvin Tommy Combs, Edward Ray (Marybeth) Combs, and Linda Kaye (James Lawson) Combs; grandchildren Deborah, Daniel, Abe and Nathan Combs; great-grandchildren Samantha Davidson, Tyler, Ryan, Kylie, Andrew, Matthew and Ella Combs; brothers, Charles (Juanita) and Harold (Rosalie) Combs; sister, Edith (Marvin) Meadows; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family & friends.
Ed was retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber with 36 years of service.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to services. Burial will follow services at Polk Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
