Edward C. Wagers, age 92, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was born in Creekville, KY to the late Carlo and Lucy Wagers. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lucy Wagers; and several siblings.
Ed is survived by his sons: Ed (Kathy) Wagers, Mike (Deneece) Wagers, and Larry (Sherry) Wagers; grandchildren: Heather Wagers, Eddie Wagers III, Kelly Daniels, Jacob Wagers, and Jonathan Wagers; great-grandchildren: Logan, Chase, Little Eddie, Emma, Alex, and Branden; siblings: Bert, Elsie, Orville, Donnie, Betty, Cledith, and Hazel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from General Motors after 38 years of service, and was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Centerville. He was an amazing husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd.) on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Miami Valley Memory Gardens on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ed's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
