Whiteaker, Edward B., age 77, of Riverside passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his home. He was born July 11, 1931 in Monterey, TN, the son of the late Elbert & Mertie (Swafford) Whiteaker. Edward served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a proud member of the VFW Post 431. He retired from Price Brothers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Whiteaker; and his sisters, Ola Mae and Hazel Whiteaker. Survivors include his wife, Zettie Whiteaker; children, Debbie (Billy) Cope of Riverside, Pat (Harold) Erwin of Huber Heights, James (Debbie) Beaty of Cookeville, TN, & Edna (Louie) Kramer of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Oren, William Cope, Teresa (Adam) Shea, Jason & Brian Beaty, Ronnie Beaty, & Michael Kramer; great grandchildren, Nya & Nevaeh Oren, Josh, Haley, & Kendra Cope, Abreanna, Taryn, & Grady Shea, and Gaige Beaty; brothers, Kenny (Joyce) Whiteaker & Billy Jean Grant, both of Monterey, TN. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for all of their wonderful care and request that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
