Edward A. Schloeman (94) passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, Jan. 17th and into the arms of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"Ed", as he was called, was born and adopted by his parents in CA. Raised by his dad and aunts when his mom passed away, he joined the Army and served in WWII. Ed was married for 38 years to Marjorie "Marj", who passed away in 1981. They raised their 3 children in Kettering, Ohio…Nancy (Ken) Caverlee, Miamisburg, OH; Tom Schloeman, Indianapolis, IN; and Vicki (Mike) Huff in Stow, OH.
Ed was blessed with 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Brandon (Erin) Huff and their children Connor, Dylan, Payton & Logan of Columbus, OH.; Mindy (Scott) Thomae and their children Hunter, Caleb, Eli and Ella of Germantown, OH.; and Shannon (Jamie) Sullivan and their children Riley and Erin, of Greenwood, IN.
Ed was employed as a civilian at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 25 years. Upon retirement he moved to Indianapolis, IN. where he worked for Raleigh, LTD. for the next 25 years. He was known for his infectious laugh, friendliness, and living each day to the fullest with a thankful heart. He took great pride in his children and children's children...loved to play, go places, and celebrate special occasions. His childlike faith showed up through his sweet sincere prayers and concerns for others. We thank God for his long, "young-at-heart" life and the many memories he has left as a legacy.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439.
