Edna M. Harrison, age 76, of Dayton, passed away August 11, 2020, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Maringouin, Louisiana on September 25, 1943, the daughter of the late William and Leora Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Samuel Harris, Henry Harris, Curtis Harris, Clarence Harris, Gerald Harris, Ida Cannon, Ernestine Mims, Emma James and Joseph Harris.
Edna is survived by her dear son, Kieran (Monica) Jones; grandchildren, Kieran Jones, Jr. and Kyndall Jones; great grandchild, Kennedy Jones; siblings, Beulah Thompson, Stella Miller, John Harris, William Harris and Edward Harris; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Harris and Dolores Harris; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She retired from Landmark Title Agency after 30+ years as an Abstractor. Edna was a member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church and her local Neighborhood Watch for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her stories, reading the newspaper, cooking, crossword puzzles, attending family reunions, Senior exercise classes and spending time with her beloved family. She was always there for her granddaughter and great granddaughter, she was always there to pick them up from school. Each year, she would make gumbo for her family and they always looked forward to having it. She was the most loving person and will be greatly missed by her family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Dayton for the love and care given to Edna.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 am.
