Edna Ruth Ford

Edna Ruth Ford, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Edna Ruth was born in Dot, VA. on October 13, 1922 to the late Everett Price and Maude Livingston Price. The family moved to Ohio when she was seven years of age. She is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Ford. She and her husband owned RPA, Inc. until shortly before his death. She continued with the company until January, 2016, when she retired at age 93. Edna Ruth was the matriarch of five generations: She is survived by her daughter, Jerrie Turpin, grandsons, Mark Turpin (Stacy), Shaan Turpin (Renee) and Rodney Turpin (Teresa), seven great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Roy Everett (RE) Price, Huey Price, John Price and Ruby Price Steele. She is survived by her sister, Peggy A. Price (Judy Hamer) and devoted friend Sylvia Smith. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Barbara Woodward, Kim Zimmer, Jim Price, Cyndi Palazzo, Tracey Bucher and Scott Price. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and to local casinos and was an avid bingo player. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the staff of Walnut Creek for their compassionate care during her final days. We do not have words to express how wonderful the Hospice of Miami Valley staff has been. They are much more than care givers. They are truly the best examples of human kindness. The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
